Move Decider · Japan Mobility Decision Engine

Total-cost accounting for people who live in the countryside and travel on their own money: cash + time × your rate + comfort / convenience / risk − the joy of driving.
Theory: generalized cost × random utility (McFadden) × the positive utility of travel (Mokhtarian & Salomon). Prices marked verified come from real bills; estimates are pending recheck (see each case's unknowns). The explanation layer runs on Nemotron (Nebius Token Factory), validated live (2026-10-26); this page shows text in the same form as validated, while every number is computed deterministically by the engine.
How time is priced (my profile): driving hours count at half rate — I listen to podcasts on the road; rest and riding count at full rate. The 25-minute drive from home to Echigo-Yuzawa Station is already included in the ride-based strategies. The joy-of-driving value only offsets the all-driving strategies — drag it, and watch when the recommendation flips.

Engine: deterministic accounting (price + source + date + confidence) → risk rules → explanation layer (Nemotron, live-validated; this page is a static display). Engine and data packs are separate: a new corridor means a new data pack, not a new engine — flight and international packs plug in the same way.
